The main idea of The Tourist Service Center was to hide it’s structure underground. This operation made the building invisible and emphasized composition axis of Powisle area as an important route to the biggest tourist attraction – the Wawel.
Building is situated in terrain close to Vistula embankments which caused application of special technology providing flooding. Realization of building was impeded by existing infrastructure and historic sewage canal.
Project was intended to improve the quality of destroyed urban space which is a main exposition of Wawel Hill. Priority aims become clearing the area in functional, composition and architectural aspects. Now The Tourist Service Center is a place where every traveler can start sightseeing of Krakow.
