Wieliczka” Salt Mine runs the health resort in underground excavations halls. On the depth of 135m Asymetria44 designed interior of the “Wessel” chamber which connected with other similar spaces will perform SPA resort function. With a huge lack of area to fulfill program assumptions it was decided to increase space with hanged wooden platforms over the surface of existing lake. In this way was achieved clear functional and spatial design.
The underground architecture is a significant example of space which will be never defined by natural daylight. The idea of lighting interior centered on intelligent directing of light to expose natural value of cave structure. To achieve this there was built scaled physical model of chamber which was illuminated in varied combinations to pick up the most advantageous one. In the end there was designed and constructed an individual prototypes of lamps which will be install in „Wieliczka” Salt Mine health resort.
